Welcome to the Martin Luther King Avenue Bridge Local Concept Development Study website!

Morris County is conducting a Local Concept Development (LCD) Study to identify improvement alternatives for the existing Martin Luther King Avenue Bridge over the Whippany River in the Town of Morristown.

Originally constructed in 1900 and widened in 1928, the Martin Luther King Avenue Bridge (Structure No. 1400-118) is in need of major rehabilitation or replacement. The County is conducting this study in conjunction with the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

Community involvement is an important part of the LCD process, and we encourage the community and general public to participate and provide input during the study.
